Raj Iyer, MD, AGAF

Dr. Raj Iyer is board certified as a gastroenterologist. She has practiced in Central Iowa since 2010 with a special interest in therapeutic gastroenterology, care and treatment of liver disease and women’s health.
Dr. Iyer was born and raised in India obtaining her medical degree at the B.J. Medical College, in Pune, India. She interned at the John H. Stroger, Jr Hospital of Cook County and also completed her Gastroenterology fellowship training there. Before joining IDDC, she worked as Associate Professor of Medicine in Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose, California and was faculty at Stanford University.
Dr. Iyer is delighted to have joined the medical team at Iowa Digestive Disease Center as it provides her the opportunity to apply her knowledge and skills in gastroenterology and the care of liver disease.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children and pursues interests in painting, photography and gardening.
