Bernard Leman, MD

Dr. Bernard Leman is board certified as a gastroenterologist. He has practiced in Central Iowa since 1990 with a special interest in Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. He is the medical director of the Iowa Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.
Dr. Leman was born and raised in California. Following college at Harvard, Dr. Leman received his medical degree at Tulane University, School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at UCLA Harbor Medical Center in Torrance, California, and his Gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Leman is honored to have joined the medical team at Iowa Digestive Disease Center as it provides him the opportunity to apply his knowledge and skills in service to the community. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, tennis, jogging at a fairly slow pace, and maintains a special interest in the arts.
