Natalie Gergler, PA-C

Natalie grew up on the south side of Des Moines and earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Iowa. After college, she spent time on the East Coast working as a flight attendant while completing her prerequisites, all while pursuing her long-standing interest in medicine. She went on to graduate from MCPHS in 2006 with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies—a dream come true.

With 18 years of experience in medicine, Natalie has worked in a wide range of settings, including trauma, surgery, the ICU, and the emergency department. She has also enjoyed teaching and mentoring, helping to train both physician assistants and medical students. In collaboration with a surgeon, she helped start and lead a Surgical Oncology service In Virginia, which continues to serve patients today.

Now back home in Iowa, Natalie is excited to be part of the Iowa Digestive Disease Center. She is passionate about using her experience to provide high-quality care and to help patients better understand their health. Outside of work, Natalie is a former ultra runner who now prefers spending her time on bike rides.
